HELPFUL HINTS FOR BUILDING YOUR NEW BARN OR STABLE

1. Use a State licensed contractor.  Have your builder supply you with a copy of their state license.  Call the Department of Professional Regulations @ 1-800-342-7940 for any questions.
2. Check with the Better Business Bureau for complaints against their company.
3. Ask the builder for their Certificate of Insurance for liability insurance.
4. Always check with your local building department for your permit status.  They have all the information to make the proper decision as to you being required to pull a permit or not for your building.
5. Have your contractor pull the permit if one is required.  He should take full responsibility for the job and job site.
6. Visit at least one of their finished projects and ask for references.
